Atlanta’s Shaky Beats Festival keeps things friendly and community-focused, with Martin Garrix, San Holo, Big Gigantic and more

I have never been to a music festival with as much home state pride as Shaky Beats in Georgia has. During nearly every single set someone would start chanting “ATL HOE” which is a sign of approval from the crowd.

The two day electronic music festival featured some of the biggest names such as Martin Garrix, What So Not, Big Gigantic, San Holo, Gryffin and many more incredible artists. The venue is in Central Park in Atlanta and each stage was named after something famous in Georgia.

The festival team including security made everyone feel safe and like they were able to be open about who they truly are. The guards would dance with the crowd and hand out water for people who had been waiting patiently for their favorite sets. People truly felt like they could express themselves in their outfits and it was great to see the festival being a judge-free and safe environment for every type of person.

Big Gigantic

This was only my second or third time coming to Georgia, and I had never experienced hospitality at a festival like this one. People were kind and the energy levels were high throughout the entire day. I had a wonderful time meeting people from all over the United States and being able to share this experience with so many unique individuals. One of my favorite things is how people from all sorts of backgrounds and identities can come together and dance their feet off to the same music. This festival not only had some of the best EDM artists but also some of the kindest hospitality.
