Miguel draws in a huge crowd at Seattle’s WaMu Theatre (with DVSN)

It’s harder to feel connected to an artist in larger venue settings. This was not the case at the WaMu Theater when Miguel finished off his Ascension Tour. From beginning to end the show drew you closer to each artist and the people around you.

From his very first note, dvsn had the crowd hooked. His voice is unbelievably smooth. Three singers stood off to his right side. dvsn took time throughout his set to draw attention to these incredibly talented ladies. It wasn’t all about him, which was nice to see from a performer.

Miguel appeared on top of stairs as a light brightened behind him. Smoke hung over the stage while his voice floated through the massive venue. He emphasized that this was a meditation, and an experience to ascend higher. Miguel is a performer. This was his third time in Seattle this year and each show brought something special. After a packed two-hour set filled with multiple outfit changes and every possible song from Miguel you’d ever wish to hear live, he wrapped up his tour. Having a tour come to an end in your city is special. There are so many different people that make a show possible and Miguel took time to celebrate and highlight them.

You can listen to Miguel’s most recent album, War & Leisure, here.
