Bumbershoot 2018: Sasha Sloan, Olivia O’Brien, nothing, nowhere and more of our artists to watch

Bumbershoot is one of the largest cultural touchstones in Seattle. Not only is there a stacked lineup of artists, Bumbershoot also showcases film, visual arts, comedy, and much more! We are so excited to see some incredible fresh artists perform this year. Here’s our top five to watch.

1. Sasha Sloan

This self-titled “sad girl” is an up-and-coming star. Working with artists like Camila Cabello, Odesza, and LANY – you’ve definitely hear her words before. Sasha is one of those effortlessly cool girls that you naturally gravitate towards. Her lyrics are bold, vulnerable, and honest – something you feel during her performance. We’ll be watching her no matter what’s going on during her set.

2. Duckwrth

Only a couple years in, Duckwrth is standing out as an artist. His music videos are insanely creative. Duckwrth truly lives in his own little world, creating as he sees fit and sharing a glimpse of that to us. There are no expectations linked to his performance since he’ll probably end up surprising everybody.

3. Saweetie

Things have been moving quickly for Saweetie. Her first music video, ICY GRL, was released in October 2017 and has 53 million views (as of August 2018). Pigeons and Planes named her one of the best new artists of the month in January. Saweetie is fully of attitude and confidence, something we’re stoked to see on stage.

4. Olivia O’Brien

Olivia is a pop princess. Her boy trouble filled lyrics make her one of the most relatable singer/songwriters. She smoothly blends high energy pop beats with words that might make you cry. Olivia O’Brien is constantly putting out incredible work and we’re excited to see her perform live!

5. nothing, nowhere

While he recently cancelled his tour, we can’t help but hold out hope that nothing, nowhere will still perform during Bumbershoot. The most important thing to take care of is mental health, which is exactly what he’s doing during this break.

Bumbershoot runs August 31st – September 2nd. For more information and to purchase tickets, check here. Who are you most excited to see?
