Vance Joy shines on a warm summer night in Washington at Marymoor Park in Seattle

Performing at an outdoor venue in Washington is always risky. The weather can change at any moment. So when Vance Joy came to Marymoor Park, all eyes were focused on the skies. That is until he came on stage.

A think layer of fog covered the stage as Vance Joy walked out to a crowd of 5,000 people. Selling out Marymoor Park is a feat of its own. Vance Joy’s music is meant to be a soundtrack for summer, and a concert in the park feels like perfection. A local radio station, 107.7 The End, was hosting the event so there was a wide variety of fans in the crowd. Most of the standing area was filled with older teenagers and young adults. Just on the outside was a mother and young daughter dancing with matching pajamas on, full of happiness. That was one of the best parts about this show – families came out together and old friends met up.

Vance was stellar. He played new music and spoke about how grateful he was to be able to perform for people. You could feel his earnest gratitude when he talked. His honesty is not only found in his music, but easily seen within his personality as well. You can check out Vance Joy’s latest album, Nation of Two, here. Keep up with all of his performance dates here.
