Tyler, Vince, Anderson and more: The five best things we saw at Sasquatch Festival

Sasquatch! Music Festival came and went in the blink of an eye. With a three-day schedule packed full of activities and non-stop music, a lot of memories were made. There were a few that stuck out more than others. Moments that won’t soon be forgotten.

Tyler, The Creator

There isn’t a performer quite like Tyler, The Creator. He closed out night one of Sasquatch! and was possibly the best all festival. Tyler cracked jokes between songs noting that he, “shouldn’t be going this hard like I don’t have asthma”. This didn’t slow him down one bit. In fact, he used his inhaler a few times while the crowd yelled for him right before he started his performance. Plus, his set design is beautifully elaborate. Oh yeah, and somebody broke their leg during his performance.

Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals

These boys closed out the entire festival and there wasn’t a better set of artists to do so than these guys. While I know we just discussed how incredible Tyler, The Creator was, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals nearly beat him out. Anderson .Paak radiates sunshine. His smile infectiously thrilled the crowd. It’s difficult to put his energy in to words. Anderson .Paak spent most of his time killing drums while singing. You will definitely scream “YES LAWD” a few times during his performance.

Vince Staples

Vince has quite the sense of humor and it shows on stage. He instructed the crowd to yell “these n—-s can’t hold me down“ if they felt comfortable and then laughed as a sea of white people jumped up and down chanting it back to him. He owned the crowd.

Petit Biscuit

The entire El Chupacabra area was packed full of people well before Petit Biscuit was set to perform. Anticipation was thick and the crowd didn’t mind missing other acts if it meant getting to hear Petit Biscuit play his music. People came prepared with LED gloves and loads of glitter. It was fun to watch this French boy draw so many people to the smallest stage.

Japanese Breakfast

Japanese Breakfast was so popular that the crowd spilled to the food area and up on to the hills of other stage’s areas. She definitely needed to be playing with a bigger audience area. She emanated such joy and people loved every second of her performance. Her huge PNW fan base is largely in part to her being from Oregon.

There you have it – the moments that will remain memories from Sasquatch! 2018. Be sure to check out each of these incredible artists.
