Thank goodness Matt and Kim are back on the road, with stops in Brooklyn and at Shaky Knees

Everybody’s favorite drum-keys duo Matt and Kim are back after a long hiatus, and their return couldn’t have come soon enough. Matt and Kim are one of the touring world’s consistently energetic shows, known for their beat-driven anthems and spontaneous on-stage dance parties.

For a while, it was hard to avoid Matt and Kim shows, and they seemed to be playing half of the summer’s festivals and college campuses left and right. An on-stage injury to Kim’s knee took the band off the road for a full year, but it also meant the band could work on new music with the likes of Mark Hoppus, Santigold, Flosstradamus and more.

Lead single “Forever” is classic Matt and Kim. It’s loud and anthemic but vocals from Mark Hoppus and SWMRS push it into territory the band hasn’t ventured into before. “Forever” is the lead single from their forthcoming sixth LP, which is set for release this spring via the FADER label.

Matt and Kim are in the same select group as Foals, Girl Talk, The Black Lips, The Gorillaz, Steve Aoki, and a handful of other artists that truly come alive on stage. Now that their back, it feels like Matt and Kim will probably be touring for a while, but that doesn’t mean you should put off experiencing them any longer.
