Coast Modern’s play a charismatic and spontaneous “Haunted House Party” show in Seattle (with Water Bed and Mikey Mike)

If you ask any Seattle music junkie they’ll tell you how special The Crocodile is to play at. They’ve had some of the best play there – Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Yoko Ono (to name a few). So, when Seattle native Luke Atlas of Coast Modern got to come home and play on that stage… let’s just say something very special happened.

Right before Coast Modern was about to embark on their tour, they posted a video cancelling the tour and replaced it with the “Haunted House Party”. It’s so much fun. First, there’s a sign up for a talent show. Pick something cool and go for the win (you might just get a dope prize).

Then, Water Bed took the stage. They’re only performing at a couple shows on the tour, but they are mesmerizing to watch. They craft their music on stage, in sync, and it’s one of the most magical things to experience. Up next was Mikey Mike, who is also a bunch of fun. He tours with a spinning game wheel, but left the spinner at a previous venue. He pulled out a bottle cap and had a fan flip that to see what would happen. She ended up lighting his chest hair on fire. Don’t worry, there’s picture proof for you if you don’t believe it. His music is quirky and his personality matches. You’ll probably laugh once or twice during his set, but in a good way.

The stage set up for Coast Modern doesn’t take long. If you want to help decorate the stage, feel free to bring a thing – specifically something that lights up. They’ll take it along with them on tour and it will become part of the show. Coast Modern is very in tune with their fan base. Lead singer Coleman Trapp, is great at connecting with specific people in the crowd. In fact, he stared in my eyes, got all up in my face, and I forgot to blink or breathe.

He makes his way across the stage effortlessly. The chemistry between the boys is wonderful. Their friendship thrives on stage. Check out all their tour dates here. Be sure to make it out to one of their shows and don’t forget to bring a thing!
