Two Feet performs sensual, mellow, electronic tunes at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn

Bill Dess, who goes by the stage name Two Feet, is a singer song-writer from New York City. His sensual, mellow sound enforces electronic beats, and has a jazz/blues influence. February 16th Two Feet and opener Absofacto performed at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York.

Absofacto is singer song-writer/producer, Johnathan Visger. His bedroom pop, indie sound has a nice balance of organic fluidity and electronic elements. I had never heard Absofacto’s music prior to the show, so listening to him perform live was a pleasant surprise. Listening to his music afterwards online was a bit disappointing in comparison to his live show, so I’m glad that I was able to experience him performance before developing assumptions and thoughts about his music.

Although Absofacto is a solo project, his live band was equally as talented and exciting to watch. The female bass player and back up vocalist had a great voice, and captivating stage presence. The crowd definitely enjoyed the set, and were singing and dancing along from the very beginning. On top of the excitement of hearing his music for the first time, a memorable moment was when Visger covered the Artic Monkeys’ hit, Do I Wanna Know?

Two Feet

Two Feet came on shortly after Absofacto. For a solo artist singing alone with only a guitar in hand, Two Feet’s performance was rich and full of enjoyable moments. His performance was very passionate. He would get into these amazing guitar solos, kneel on the ground, and strut around the stage with confidence and swagger. Besides playing his popular hits, Two Feet also covered Blackbear’s idfc and Bill Wither’s Ain’t No Sunshine. In addition, he played a couple of unreleased singles.

The show was not only packed with fans of various ages, but also with family and friends. “I can’t believe all you guys came out to see me, it means so much. I have family and friends here, so this is really exciting night.” Overall his performance was captivating, and the crowd really seemed to enjoy the show.
