Austin, Texas’s MISSIO mix dark synths with alternative pop at The Sinclair in Boston

Missio put on a show at The Sinclair in Cambridge, MA on February 27th that was loud, emotional, and vulgar in all the right ways. The band, hailing from Austin Texas, mentioned they were taking a risk by doing a headlining tour while still in the process of gaining popularity. But one could tell from the turnout of the crowd and their energy on a Tuesday night that it was a risk worth taking.

While Missio’s sound is a hard hitting mix of dark electronic synths with influences of hip hop and alternative, their messages behind the songs hits just as hard, covering subjects like addiction and depression. Yet, all that negativity was released during songs such as “Middle Fingers”, in which lead singer Matthew Brue called for the audience to stick two middle fingers in the air. Truly, in that moment, a whole room had never been so unified.

Catch Missio and openers Welshly Arms through the rest of their tour that ends April 14th in Austin, TX!
