Say Anything sell out two dates at Irving Plaza on their In Defense Anniversary Tour

After a series of cancelled shows due to illness, Say Anything’s first night back on their In Defense Anniversary Tour brought the house down. Every song, the audience rang out in full volume every lyric. Several time throughout the night, frontman Max Bemis would stop singing entirely and let the crowd of doting fans finish, what seemed like, whole stanzas of lyrics for him.

Say Anything played two dates at Irving Plaza and easily sold out both. When Bemis asked the audience who was coming back for round two on Monday, just about every person in the venue shouted back in eager excitement. They played two albums in full Sunday night, “In Defense of the Genre” and their 2009 self titled album, “Say Anything”. Bemis was clearly still in recovery from the flu that had hospitalized him the day before, but put in immense effort to make sure this show was still as memorable as it could be.

This leg of the tour is being supported by Massachusetts indie band Backwards Dancer and indie solo artist Tim Kasher.
