Pop-rap duo Jack and Jack bring out fans to the Showbox on a cold Seattle night

Jack and Jack are a pop-rap duo that has come a long way since their beginnings on Vine. Hundreds of fans were waiting outside in the cold Seattle weather to see the two perform at The Showbox. They are joined by Olivia O’Brien who performed songs off her new album, It’s Not That Deep. Before she came on stage a fan was gathering girls together and telling them, “We have to sing super loud to every song. I want her to feel so loved.”

If you ever wondered if Olivia was inferring to something in “Root Beer Float”, she wasn’t. According to her band, Johannes and Connor, the song came from of a writing session her and blackbear had while drinking root beer floats.

The crowd chanted relentlessly until the lights dimmed. Murmurs of excitement filled the quiet space. Suddenly, Jack and Jack appeared and were greeted by a thunderous roar of screaming fans. The pair complement each other well on-stage. Jack Johnson is chalk full of energy. He runs all over the stage, dances like crazy, and constantly jumps up and down. Jack Gilinsky performs in a subtle, emotive manner. Neither one out performs the other. Jack and Jack are two best friends who are lucky enough to do what they love together.

Unfortunately, there is only one show left on their fall tour. They recently dropped a music video for their newest song “Beg” and you can watch that here.
