Loose Buttons headline a night of good vibes in Brooklyn with All-caps LADD and B.Miles

New York natives, Loose Buttons, performed alongside All-caps LADD and B.Miles at Alphaville in Brooklyn on November 30th. I had never been to the small Bushwick bar before. With its quirks (intensely graffitied bathroom, and hanging photo of Lana Del Rey surrounded by fairy lights) and happy hour chicken nuggets, it proved to be quite a cool place to hold last Thursday night’s show.

The environment was very intimate and inviting. Everyone at the gig was friendly and were just there to have a good time. It was nice meeting new people and having conversations about the music, bands, life, and everything in between.

The band exuded a cool confidence that worked in tandem with their chill indie rock sound. “Hello everyone, we’re Loose Buttons! Thanks for spending your Thursday night with us,” lead singer Eric Nizgretsky said as they got situated on the stage. The bands energy and stage presence made the small room filled with strangers feel like a room full of close friends. The band played several hits from their new EP, along with older favorites “Milk & Roses” and “Crowded Room.” After a few songs Nizgretsky introduced himself and his bandmates. “That’s Zack (guitar) over there… but let’s give some love to Adam (drums) in the back! That’s Manny on the bass, he’s everyone’s favorite on the all the fan pages… and I’m Eric, and I’m going to play this song…”

Seeing Loose Buttons live was a nice break from all the stress and chaos of college finals. It was a good time filled with good vibes and good friends. With the release of their sophomore EP “Sundays,” they have been receiving more notice, playing more live shows around New York. Their next show will be at Rough Trade in Brooklyn on January 19th,2018!
