Bleached headline Minneapolis’ 7th Street Entry Room ahead of their tour with Against Me

Days before heading out on a two month long fall tour with Against Me!, Los Angeles based punk rockers Bleached headlined First Avenue’s 7th Street Entry Room, playing to a packed and eager Minneapolis crowd. Bleached, composed of Micayla Grace (bass), Jessica Calvin (lead guitar), Jennifer Calvin (vocals/guitar), and Nick Pilot (drums), put on a refreshing and intimate show.

This was a set I was eagerly awaiting, after having listened to Bleached for a few years but never having seen them live, the anticipation a shared feeling amongst others in the crowd, particularly since the band unfortunately will not be returning to Minnesota on their run with Against Me!. Playing their brand of punk rock with absolute ease and lively camaraderie, Bleached’s live show is one not to miss. Bleached lived up to my personal anticipation and excitement, but I left the show saddened that it will be a while before they make a stop back in Minneapolis.

Opening the night for Bleached was Ontario rock band The Dirty Nil, who will be joining Bleached and the Against Me! run. The trio, consisting of Luke Bentham (guitar/vocals), Kyle Fisher (drums), and Ross Miller (bass/vocals), came out full force, playing with an infectious intensity that bled into the crowd and only amplified the band’s gusto.
