Davey Havok and Anthony Green triumphantly lead A.F.I. and Circa Survive respectively at St. Louis show

On Friday, July 21, AFI (A Fire Inside) and Circa Survive co-headlined an epic show at The Pageant in Saint Louis. Personally, I grew up listening to these guys, and the show was nothing less of nostalgic. I was immediately transported back to high school, driving around in my Ford Focus, head banging with friends.

Circa Survive was first to take the stage, delivering in an incredibly energetic set with distinctive vocals. This is Circa Survive’s second visit to Saint Louis in four months, but it is always worthwhile to see them perform. Anthony Green’s stage presence is infectious. Green’s vocals are as crisp as listening to a CD in your car. Green would toss the mic stand into the air, and jump off the drum stand. There was not an inch of the stage that Anthony did not touch. Fans cheered as Green abruptly stopped their set to promote love and friendship to a couple of fans (and the entire crowd).

AFI closed the night with an explosive performance. After 25 years in the music scene, Davey Havok still has the same energetic stage presence. Whether you are a new fan or an old fan, AFI’s career-spanning set list had something for everyone to enjoy. AFI’s performance was filled with crowd chants, mic tossing, and soaring leaps. It was almost as if Davey Havok and Anthony Green were competing for best performance (and this made for an amazing show).
