Little Dragon return to St. Louis for a mesmerizing, electrically-charged set with GoldLink

Little Dragon headlined The Pageant in Saint Louis, Missouri on Sunday, April 30th, 2017. Opening for Little Dragon was rising hip-hop artist, GoldLink. This DC-based rapper certainly brought his own set of fans as well, which brought the hype for the main act. Little Dragon brought electrically-charged beats as well as an energetic performance. Even though these two artists seem different, the combination of the two felt so natural.

Little Dragon has always been a favorite group of mine. I first saw this group perform at The Ready Room in October 2014. Ever since then, I have been anxiously waiting for them to return to the city of Saint Louis. Of course, their grand return did not disappoint! The group recently released their latest album, “Season High” on April 14th, 2017.

Originating from Gothenburg, Sweden, Little Dragon is perfectly composed of members Yukimi Nagano (vocals, percussion), Erik Bodin (drums), Fredrik Källgren Wallin (bass), and Håkan Wirenstrand (keyboards). Even though this band is typically identified as electronic, their sound is so much more than the average electronic group. Nagano’s vocals give the band a slight R&B feel, yet the sing-ability of pop music.

The group opened their set with “Celebrate,” the first track off of their latest album. Little Dragon maintained a funky vibe from start to finish. The crowd was dancing along, swaying from side-to-side, entranced by the sounds and sights of the show. The visual effects added to an already mesmerizing feel to the performance.

Little Dragon continues The Season High Tour until November. Check out their dates below and at little-dragon.net.
