LANY bring smooth, dreamy vibes (and a bouquet of roses) to the stage in Santa Ana

A LANY song is one of a kind, and their shows are nothing short of that. Playing a sold-out show to an eager crowd at the Observatory in Santa Ana, Calif., LA based alternative/indie gems Machineheart kicked off the night. Machineheart embody the cotton candy clouds and constant sunshine of Los Angeles, and brought that essence onto the stage with them.

Seconds before LANY went on stage, the entire crowd, with roses in hand, were chanting their name. LANY’s performances are ultimately their songs come to life. They played a few of my personal favorites, including “Walk Away,” “yea, babe, no way,” and ended the night with “Pink Skies” and “ILYSB.” The dreamy and romantic beats mixed with the excitement of the audience made the atmosphere of the show feel like something fresh out of a movie.

Although they recently broke out, the trio are seasoned live performers having played headline tours across the US and Europe and their fair share of festivals. On stage, their set is tight and complete with an impressive light show despite the venue’s relatively small size.

In a review of the band’s last release, kinda, Atwood Magazine said, “the kinda EP is all about being real. LANY is not interested in hiding behind complex metaphors or saying things that they do not mean. These songs are honest, real life conversations that make the band feel both accessible and relatable. There is something so quintessentially human about their music–one of the many reasons this up-and-coming band has found so much success in such a short amount of time. Set to embark on their biggest tour to date this upcoming fall, the group’s exponential rise to success has been nothing short of inspiring and incredible.”

LANY releases their debut full-length album LANY next month. Upcoming dates of “The LANY Tour” here.
