A Great Big World taking it back to their roots at lighthearted show in Chicago

Great Big World filled the Space, in Evanston Illinois for a intimate night full of laughs and sing-a-longs. The singer songwriter duo took to the stage relaxed, and lighthearted, providing back stories to their songs sending the room into sympathetic “awws” and laugher, bringing a personal friendly atmosphere to the night.

For instance the song, “You’ll Be Okay” being about the bedbugs and fleas in a hotel room. For the song “Shorty Don’t Wait,” Chad invited fans up to the stage to sing with them. The night ended with a cover of “You Got A Friend In Me” where Chad insisted on playing piano instead of Ian bringing an elated end to the night.

Ian Axel and Chad King, the singer songwriter duo started out of New York in 2011 and have since wrote the hit song “Say Something.” Their re-recorded version with guest Christina Aguilera reached number 1 on iTunes top charts. In 2015 the duo released a second album “When the Morning Comes”, premiering their next hit song “Hold Each Other” featuring the rapper Future.

The night started off with Allie Moss, a singer just coming off touring as back-up for Ingrid Michaelson, and a old friend of the duo who had known them for 11 years. With her acoustic set bringing chills to the audience.
