Glass Animals brings an exhilarating show of new and old tunes to a sold out Richmond crowd

English indie rock band Glass Animals brought one of the most exciting performances to The National in Richmond, VA in recent memory. Combined with opening support from local talent Manatree and tour companion Ben Gorvine (Imagined Herbal Flows) the sold out venue was the place to be for the evening.

Glass Animals rolled out their groove-heavy hits “Black Mamba” early in the set, “Gooey” near the middle and new single “Season 2 Episode 3” as the hour-long set came to an end. Glass Animals has toured extensively this past year (we caught their set earlier this tour in New York City) and if this is the calibre of show they’re playing now, we can only think of how bright the future is for the young band from Oxford.

Richmond’s alternative rock radio station XL102 brought the critically acclaimed act to town for the first night of their sixth annual Miracle on Broad Street series that will showcase other astounding acts such as Milky Chance, Local Natives and Phantogram in December of this year.
